Learn MoreThe LIC Robodogs were brought together in 2008 by two Long Island City High School (LICHS) teachers and a few students who shared the idea and determination to start a robotics team. As we grew stronger through leadership and inspiration, we have become an active advocate of the message of FIRST.
Veteran Robodogs are given the opportunity to lead subteams and projects, improving leadership skills. Additionally, these students improve their public speaking through outreach presentations and show massive growth in confidence over their time on the team. Many of our students are among the top of their class, encouraging younger members to follow in their footsteps.
Nearly 75% of our team is female - a statistic we are very proud of. Our team is very diverse and made up of students from Bangladesh, India, Greece, Pakistan, Nepal, Philippines, Romania, Ecuador and Mexico.
Members of our team also participated in FTC Team 13351 NYCF-LIC and served as peer mentors to those who had little to no experience. Robodogs taught them how to build a robot and program it to do specific tasks.
Competition costs are high, and we would love any support you have. Email us for more information!
